Gregory P. Diamantopoulos

Gregory P. Diamantopoulos is a partner at Verros Berkshire. He advises clients in a variety of real estate matters, with a focus on property tax appeals and incentives, in addition to representing a wide range of commercial, industrial and residential properties throughout Illinois.

Mr. Diamantopoulos has argued before various County Boards of Review, the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board and the Circuit Court of Cook County. In this capacity, he has secured favorable tax assessments and negotiated large property tax settlements and refund recoveries for his clients. He also trains new attorneys and manages the firm’s Circuit Court tax objection practice.

Mr. Diamantopoulos has secured numerous Class 7c tax incentives, including for a franchise location of a national coffee and baked goods chain located in Chicago’s 20th Ward and the first Class 7c tax incentive in the Village of Mount Prospect for a $10+ million renovation project to create a state-of-the-art recreational facility. He has also successfully secured both a Class 7c and a Class 6b for different parts of the same property.

Mr. Diamantopoulos regularly advises clients on acquisitions and developments by providing an opinion on future taxes and potential tax incentives. He has appeared before numerous Village Boards and assists clients in securing Cook County Class 6b and Class 8 tax incentives and renewals.

Mr. Diamantopoulos began his career in the field of property taxation after he received his law degree in 2008 from DePaul University College of Law. While at DePaul, he served as Editor of Outside Submissions and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Sports Law & Contemporary Problems, where he oversaw the selection of articles and the publication of the journal.
